  1. TELNET 2.4 Final release UPDATE:

  3. This is the official update for Telnet 2.4, and is named Telnet2.4.02.  In
  4. this release, several minor problems under the previous release are fixed.  
  5. Telnet can find a config.tel file in the System Folder, color can be specified
  6. for each session in config.tel regardless of whether there is a nameserver=
  7. line, Telnet works fine with Hypercard regardless of whether you have
  8. option mapped to control, and Monocco fonts are no longer munged.

  12. New features not present in version 2.3 include:

  14. %  Domain name lookup is now done through the MacTCP resolver, so that Telnet 
  15.     is now able to run perfectly with any number of other     TCP products
  16. %  Line-mode is supported on supercomputer systems that allow this added 
  17.     functionality
  18. %  Tektronix 4105 emulation is supported, which allows color TEK images to 
  19.     be displayed
  20. %  Telnet automatically numbers windows upon opening to distinguish multiple 
  21.     connections to the same machine
  22. %  Windows can be automatically staggered enough to show the title bar when a 
  23.     session is opened
  24. %  The Open-connection dialog box allows copy/pasting when choosing a session 
  25.     to open

  28. This release also contains many bug fixes, including:
  29. %  Telnet no longer crashes after ftp-ing more than 64 files
  30. %  The cursor doesnt get randomly trashed after some ftp sessions
  31. *  Telnet works correctly on the Mac Portable
  32. %  The numeric keypad is fixed to support vt100 emulation
  33. %  The menus are now highlighted correctly
  34. %  Memory management has been completely overhauled, which prevents Telnet 
  35.     from crashing randomly like in previous versions
  36. %  Negotiations have also been completely overhauled.  This fixes numerous 
  37.     bugs on VMS systems, Convex, Cray, and sun sytems
